Privacy policy

Stop:Watch keeps your timing sessions on your Mac. The app does not include advertising or third-party tracking tools. Apple handles App Store purchases.

About this policy

This policy covers the Stop:Watch Mac app and its website, operated by Justin Eiskamp. For privacy questions, contact justincodes@icloud.com.

Data on your Mac

The app stores preferences, timer state, and purchase-unlock status on your device. Saved session history can include start and end times, duration, session type, lap count, completion status, and titles or notes you enter. This information is stored locally using Apple’s on-device storage frameworks. The app does not transmit your session history, titles, or notes to the developer, and it does not provide developer-operated cloud sync.

If you enable automatic pausing, Stop:Watch uses system idle or screen-state information on your Mac to pause timing. It does not record the content of your keyboard input or send this activity information to the developer.

Purchases and Apple services

Downloads, payments, purchase verification, and purchase restoration use Apple’s App Store and StoreKit services. Stop:Watch receives transaction and entitlement information needed to determine whether Pro is unlocked. The developer does not receive your payment card details from the app.

Apple may process information under its own policies and provide developers with sales reports or diagnostic and usage information according to your Apple settings. See Apple’s App Store privacy information.

Website visits

This website does not add advertising trackers, analytics scripts, or marketing cookies. Its stopwatch illustration runs in your browser and does not save or transmit the times you enter or measure.

The website’s hosting and network providers process technical information needed to deliver and secure pages, such as IP addresses, browser information, requested URLs, and request times. Their handling and retention of this information depend on their service policies. A privately hosted preview may require the hosting provider’s sign-in and authentication cookies.

When you contact us

If you email for support, the developer receives your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to provide. This information is used to respond, troubleshoot problems, and manage the request. Email providers also process these messages. Avoid including sensitive information that is not needed for support.

Retention and your choices

Local app data stays on your Mac until you delete it or remove its stored files. You can delete saved session history within the app. Deleting the app alone may leave locally stored data or backups behind. Contact us if you need help removing it.

Support correspondence is retained as needed to address requests and maintain relevant records. You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of information you have sent to the developer by email. Requests are handled subject to applicable requirements. The developer cannot retrieve or delete session data that exists only on your device.

Sharing and security

The developer does not sell your personal information or use it for cross-site advertising. Information may be processed by service providers needed to operate the website and respond to support, or disclosed when required by law. Reasonable care is taken with information received, but no storage or transmission method is completely secure.

Changes

This policy may be updated when the app or website changes. The date above identifies the latest revision. Material changes will be explained on this page.
